“It’s wonderful when a health product and a
willingness to help others come together” – Gerry Gildart

life-saver…opportunity turns into obligation

When an opportunity turns into an obligation, you know. It’s a bit like falling in love. When you fall in love, you don’t have to consult any books, you don’t have to ask your neighbour, you just KNOW!

In January of 1994, Tony Stephan lost his wife Debbie to suicide, leaving 10 children motherless. She had struggled with severe depression and mania for several years. After going on PROZAC for only two weeks, she took her life as a result of her medication.

After the events of loosing his father-in-law, then his wife, Tony was left to cope with two of his ten children who had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Tony KNEW he had to do something.

To know, at such a profound level, is what eventually triggered an ‘epiphany’ in Tony. When it was suggested to him that his children’s condition could be brought under control with the ‘proper nutrients’ he is quoted as saying: “I don’t think there wasn’t a cell that wasn’t lit up in my body.”

…obligation turns into a mission

Eventually, Tony and his friend David formulated EMPowerplus Q96®, to help his daughter and his son cope with their mood disorder. As they got better, his desire to help people who were vulnerable and suffering from potentially life-threatening psychiatric disorders became insatiable. In that moment he was on a mission.

The ResQTeam® came to be because of two brothers. One of the brothers, Ron, got his life back using the formula EMPowerplus Q96®. The other brother, Gerry, got his brother back after his long struggle with major clinical depression and bipolar type 1 with rapid cycling.

The ResQTeam®’s mission is definitely aligned with Tony’s and QSciences’s. Furthermore, the team’s mission is to inform the public at large on the ‘Science of Happiness’ and to promote healthy lifestyles.

…the propaganda machine

It’s easy to fall victim to the propaganda machine. Edward Bernays invented ‘Public Relations’ in the 1920s, being the first person to take Freud’s ideas to manipulate the masses. He showed American corporations how they could make people want things they didn’t need by systematically linking mass-produced goods to their unconscious desires. Here’s what he said:

“If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, it is now possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without them knowing it.” -Edward Bernays, (Propaganda 1928, p.71)

One example was Bernays campaign to convince women to smoke in the 1920s. Bernays helped the smoking industry overcome one of the biggest social taboos of the time: women smoking in public. Prior to the 1920s, smoking was largely a male pastime and women were only allowed to smoke in designated areas, or not at all. If caught violating this rule, women would have been arrested.

Bernays used psychoanalysis to associate the act of smoking with a sort of challenge to male sexual power. Bernays staged the 1929 Easter parade in New York City, showing models holding lit cigarettes and told the media to refer to the cigarettes in the press as “Torches of Freedom” – in a protest against male patriarchal society.

After the historical public event, women started lighting up more than ever before. It was through Bernays that women’s smoking habits started to become socially acceptable. Bernays created this event as news, which, of course, it wasn’t. Bernays convinced industries that the news, not advertising, was the best medium to carry their message to an unsuspecting public.

The same tactics were applied to pharmaceuticals. We as a society have been programmed to regard the curing or healing of disease as a perplexing and complicated science that is best left in the hands of medical practitioners. As a result, we’ve come to rely almost exclusively on the information that is dispensed to us by television commercials, the internet, doctors and health care providers who are themselves usually uninformed about alternative healing options that may be better for treating diseases than the standard medical treatments consisting of drugs, surgery, radiation or other therapies.

One would think that because the medical and pharmaceutical industries have grown as large as they have, that we would have less sick people in the world. But the opposite is actually true. There are more sick people in the U.S., and Canada, for instance, than at any other time in history—not just in actual numbers but as a percentage of the population. This, in no way, is intended to discredit doctors, medical practitioners and institutions that have genuinely good intentions of helping to heal people and eradicate disease. It simply points to an ineffective medical system that is focused on illness rather than wellness, that promotes expensive (i.e., profit-driven), invasive and potentially dangerous (or even deadly) medical procedures, drugs or treatments rather than simple, natural, inexpensive, effective treatments or therapies that have no side effects.

While the majority of drugs prescribed by doctors may seem to provide relief (or so-called “cure”) for a disease, most of them simply relieve symptoms or the pain associated with the disease, but don’t cure the disease.

Practically all drugs have side effects: that is, they cause effects (including adverse and serious effects) other than those that are desired. Sometimes, drugs provide relief for one health problem, but in the process, give rise to even more serious health problems. Fore instance,  we take drugs that relieve the symptoms of osteoporosis and in turn, acquire a high risk of breast cancer; and we trade impotence for heart disease; or depression for diabetes; and take a pill for arthritis at the risk of getting a heart attack. There are even drugs that are designed primarily to alleviate the side effects caused by other drugs or medical treatments.

And that’s only touching on the side effects of drugs. There are also side effects and serious health consequences that come with medical treatments like surgery, radiation or chemotherapy, for example. And even diagnostic procedures like X-Rays, mammograms and MRIs have their own attendant risks and side effects.

When you consider the prevailing conditions that exist in the medical industry, you begin to see that your best interests are not served by relinquishing total control of your health to doctors, medical establishments or the pharmaceutical industry. What this means to you is that you must not blindly accept medical advice as the best course of action for your health. Neither should you be deceived by the multimillion dollar advertising campaigns of the pharmaceutical companies that promote “medicines” that do not cure and often harm.

… Global Stress = Global Mess

It used to be you could walk in a supermarket, and if you stayed on the periphery, you were able to buy all you needed to eat a somewhat healthy diet; fruits, veggies, meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. All you had to do was keep a safe distance from what I like to call the “foods lying in state”, you know, all the dead foods lining the shelves in the aisles. This is no longer true. Face it, when you walk in a supermarket, you’re taking your chances. Except for what is labelled ‘certified organic’ (then again you have to question that statement), and please don’t fall for the ‘all natural’ brands. Everything else has either been genetically modified GMO, IRRIDIATED, meats laced with antibiotics, growth hormones, tranquilizers, and so on, and so forth.

The ‘MOTHER’ of all diseases today is MENTAL STRESS! Not only in humans, but in animals too. Why do you think they give animals tranquilizers? Did you know that many of the tranquilizers they feed to food and non-food animals are part of the benzodiazepine family of drugs, like Ativan, and Clonazepam prescribed to humans by MDs and Psychiatrists?

The World Health Organization (WHO) Global Burden of Disease Survey estimates that mental disease, including stress-related disorders, will be the second leading cause of disabilities by the year 2020. Although the term “stress” is used in a wide variety of contexts, it has consistently been demonstrated that individuals with stress and related disorders experience impaired physical and mental functioning, more work days lost, increased impairment at work, and a high use of health care services. The disability caused by stress is just as great as the disability caused by workplace accidents or other common medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis. We present evidence that calls for early recognition of workplace stress and for businesses to allocate more resources to stress management in the workplace.

… QSciences® – The Science of Happiness

It stands to reason that if all our food supply is tainted, we need to supplement. Nevertheless, it’s important to state that: “Diet supplements require lifestyle changes to work”. There is no getting around that.

The most important component to Happiness is Health. And, the most important component to vibrant health is supplementation; that’s where Qsciences® comes in.
